Visiting Stanford

General Information regarding Stanford University such as campus tours, transportation, maps, and directions to campus is provided by the Visitor Information Center. Disability access information and resources are provided by Stanford's Diversity and Access Office.

Airports

Three major airports serve the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco International (SFO), San Jose Mineta International (SJC), and Oakland International (OAK). Stanford is roughly equidistant from the San Francisco and San Jose airports. Although San Francisco is the largest of the three airports and offers the most airlines and flights, some visitors find that San Jose’s smaller size makes it a somewhat more convenient alternative, especially for domestic flights.

Accommodations

The closest hotels to the conference venue are the Sheraton Palo Alto and the Westin Palo Alto. They are near the Palo Alto train station, and you can ride the Marguerite Line P to the event venue. To get 20% off the best available rate, please use the Stanford discount link to book.

If you’d like to stay on campus at a fixed $250/night rate, and don’t mind a simpler, single bedroom, you can alternatively book a room at the Schwab Residential Center on campus.

Palo Alto is a very popular destination. We recommend booking as early as possible. Some of the hotels below offer “Stanford Rates”. Guests should inquire with the hotel whether any Stanford Rate rooms are available.

Ground Transportation

Public Transportation

The closest Caltrain Station is the Palo Alto Station. From there, you may catch a number of Marguerite shuttles. Stanford's Marguerite shuttle system is free and takes you all over campus at no cost. It serves major parking structures and visitor parking lots on campus, as well as the train station and event location.

Parking

Registrants will receive further information a week out of the event about parking options.
